ONE-LINER DESCRIPTION STATEMENT
A two days training workshop was successfully organized by the Department of Psychology. The workshop examined and provided hands-on practice of the statistical analysis most commonly used in the study of social sciences, with special emphasis upon mediation analysis/path analysis, moderation analysis and confirmatory factor analysis by using AMOS. This workshop helped prepare our MS Clinical Psychology students, for learning and practising advanced statistical techniques using AMOS and effectively deal with research work in their respective areas.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Psychology. This was a two days workshop held on 20th and 21st June from 9 am to 4:30 pm in Syndicate room, GC Women University Sialkot. Worthy Vice Chancellor, GCWUS graced the event with her presence as chief guest of the workshop. The Department of Psychology welcomed the resource person, Dr. Muhammad Faran (Assistant Professor, Department of Professional Psychology, Bahria University). The resource person conducted the workshop very effectively with his expertise and provided detailed and pertinent knowledge in a descriptive and comprehensive manner.The training covered all the important concepts behind SEM with detailed emphasis on theory, application and interpretation. The main objective of this training was to help the participants gain better understanding about SEM and make them proficient in the use of Structural Equation Models using AMOS in research.
At the last day of the workshop, participants were able to understand and apply Structural Equation Modeling as a result of hands-on exercises.The Worthy Vice Chancellor graced the event as Chief Guest and presented certificate to the resource person. She also shared words of wisdom with everyone.Moreover, Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Guest of Honour, Incharge Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences also joined the event and presented certificates to the participants. Lastly, Dr. Umara Rauf (The Incharge/HOD) concluded the workshop and gave vote of thanks to the worthy Vice Chancellor, respected resource person, faculty members, participants and the entire team of psychology department.
