An online lecture was organized by Istakshaf Chemical Society (ICS) of Chemistry Department. The guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Hadariah Bahron who is an active researcher recently working at Faculty of Applied Sciences “Universiti Teknologi MARA” (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Dr. Tayyaba Shahzadi and Dr. H. M. Abd Ur Rahman welcomed the guest speaker and moderated the online lecture.
Fakhar Edina, the vice president of Istakshaf Chemical Society introduced the speaker and formally started the proceedings of online lecture. Hafiza Tauseef did recitation of few verses of Holy Quran. After that Prof. Dr. Hadariah Bahron gave an interesting and motivational lecture on “Coordination Chemistry: Imines & Metals, A Match Made in Heaven”. In her talk Prof. Dr. Hadariah Bahron discussed the synthesis and characterization of coordination complexes and highlighted their applications in corrosion inhibition, catalysis and cancer treatment etc.
Chairperson of department, Mrs. Nuzhat Munir, thanked the guest speaker on behalf of department of chemistry. At the end of the session worthy vice chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar appreciated the guest speaker and thanked her for accepting her invitation to deliver an informative talk to the students of GCWUS. She highlighted the importance of multi-national collaboration in research. She also motivated the students to become active researchers and innovators.
