International Women Day 2018 was celebrated at GCWUS.
A special event was designed by Department of Economics and executed by ORIC in collaboration with other GCWUS proud departments.
Prof. Naila Arshad (Dean Social Sciences) offered the welcome address and specially appraised the men of GCWUS for organizing such an extravaganza.
Madam Gulnaz Shahzadi (Member Provincial Assembly and Member Syndicate) along with Madam Shabina Butt (Member Provincial Assembly) were the Chief Guests.
Women Entrepreneurs set the start of the event on blaze by setting stalls of hand made products and art work right on the entrance of Auditorium.
Stage was taken on blaze by the students of Economics who presented a skit with a message of ’empowering women.A specially tailored video for women was presented which showed the prominent Muslim women across the world doing wonders.
Audience witness a promising ‘For & Against’ debate on “پاکیستان میں عورت آزاد ہے” .
Stage was set free for a talent show where students from different disciplines presented their talents and won laurels from the house.
Finally a spectacular panel discussion was presented and duly moderated by Mrs. Ayesha Usman (HoD Sociology). Panelists not only included the Chief Guests but Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi, Prof. Naila Arshad and a Alumnus of GCWUS Ms. Rabia Armaghan graced the occasion and shared their valuable thoughts.
In the end students presented their instantly created art pieces of portraits and Calligraphy.
