Department of Zoology in collaboration with National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS) has organized one day seminar entitled “Recent Research Trends in Biological Sciences” on March 29th, 2017.

Being committed to serve biological sciences, Department of Zoology in collaboration with National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS) has organized one day seminar on “Recent Research Trends in Biological Sciences” on March 29th, 2017.

Program was started at 10:00am with recitation of Holy verses of Quran and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (S.A.W). Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi (Vice Chancellor, GC Women University Sialkot) was “Chief Guest”. Dr. Haris Rashid (Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences) joined the seminar as “Guest of Honor”

More than 500 participants attended the seminar. Purpose of the event was to accentuate current challenges in the field of biological sciences and latest technology that can possibly be used to get the desired consequences.

Dr. Aftab Ahmed (President NAYS, Pakistan) being resource person, highlighted different areas of research including miRNA technology, stem cell technology, iPSCs, tissue/organ engineering, and optogenetics. He also emphasizes on the need of knowledge revolutions for the development of Pakistan.

After the session, Dr. Zarrin Fatima Rizvi (Director, ORIC) gave her conclusive remarks about the event. Dr. Sadia Maalik (Head, Department of Zoology) said few words to high officials, faculty members, participants and organizing team as token of thanks.

Souvenirs were presented to Dr. Aftab Ahmed (resource person) for the informative and interesting session and Dr. Haris Rashid (Guest of Honor) for his precious time, as token of gratitude. In the end certificates were distributed to all organizers and participants.
