Dr. Uruj Tahir is currently working as Lecturer at Government College Women University, Sialkot. She has earned her doctorate form Fatima Jinnah Women University with specialization in Microbiology and Biotechnology. During her doctorate she worked on biotransformation of selected pollutants using biofilm forming bacteria. She has developed skills on IR and atomic absorption spectroscopy, HPLC and GCMS tools, next generation sequencing. She is serving as an active reviewer in numerous impact factor journals. She is also serving as Editorial Board Member in Journal of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Her areas of expertise are microbiology, microbial and molecular genetics, bioremediation and biodegradation, biotechnology, phytoremediation and plant-microbe interactions.
