One day seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Protection of Intellectual property rights filing process and prosecution of Patent’s” was organized by Istakshaf Chemical Society (ICS) of Chemistry Department on 21st March 2022. The guest speaker was Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh (Associate Professor) at Forman Christian College Lahore, Pakistan, who is an active mentor, speaker, trainer and researcher of material chemistry. The Vice President of Istakshaf Chemical Society, presented flowers to the guest speaker. The seminar was started with recitation of Holy Quran and then Naat.
In his seminar Dr. Akhyar Farrukh discussed the various parameters that can significantly impact the Patent Writing procedure. He has highlighted different factors that can play important role in acceptance of patent writing and protection of patent writing. He further elaborated the factors that can result in rejection of claims in patent. He told ‘How much important Entrepreneurship is? He briefly told about the funds by government regarding patent writing publication.
Incharge of Department, Dr. Tayyaba Shahzadi, thanked the guest speaker on behalf of Department of Chemistry. Incharge of ORIC, Sohaib Saleem also thanked the guest speaker to deliver an informative talk and briefly told us how much important the seminar for researchers.
At the end of seminar, winners of Poster and Model Competition on the topic “Creative Chemistry: Solution of Major Problems” held on 22nd December 2021, were given certificates by the guest speaker and HOD of Chemistry Department.
The guest speaker Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh was awarded shield of honour by Chemistry Department, GCWUS.
